Process

Initial evaluation

  • Original MVP’s onboarding flow was initially developed by the development team without design input lacked areas for in user experience.

  • For example, process of adding interests required users to type in interests without suggestions or example tags, which I identified to burden users and cause to quit the sign up process midway.

User flow development

  • I developed a new user flow for the sign-up process by identifying necessary screens and content requirements.

  • This allowed me to identify points of interactions that could be enhanced interaction and streamline the user journey.

Visual system and branding

  • I used a glass morphism style to mirror the app’s forward-thinking approach to media.

  • Special attention was given to color contrasts and typography to enhance readability and user engagement across various device platforms so that accessibility standards were not compromised on style.

  • The new visual identity was strategically developed to resonate with the brand’s mission of delivering personalized and insightful content in a sleek, user-friendly format.

Outcome

Due to my contract ending after the completion of the design, I handed over the project to the engineering team. Had my involvement continued, I would have tested the effectiveness of my design through user testing, measuring success primarily by monitoring the completion and sign-up rates to ensure that the new design truly meets user needs and enhances their experience.
